Family Trip to Florida - June 19-22

Beaker!

We went to Florida for a weekend vacation. We originally weren't going to take Sienna with us, but decided to because our friends Raeann, Brian and their kids hadn't met Sienna yet and were unlikely to travel to Michigan any time soon.

Sienna did quite well on the airplane both ways. She cried a little when trying to fall asleep (because she's not used to sleeping on someone's lap), but did manage to fall asleep for about half of the trip in both directions. We sat by some very nice people (parents) who were very understanding.

We arrived on Thursday and drove straight to St. Pete's Beach to our place at Tradewinds Resort. We had incredible weather both Thursday and Friday while there. The resort was fantasic as always. The ocean was like bath water, which was a change for us since we normally stay there in November or other colder months. Sienna loved to run along the beach (not a fan of holding onto our hands though) - but was somewhat cautious around the water. Her first time in, she walked around a little, but the undercurrent made her dizzy (it IS disorienting if you're looking down) and she fell down (see video). She became a bit more relaxed once we bought her her elephant floaty toy. She also enjoyed playing in the "baby pool" - which was a shaded pool about 1-2 feet deep.

Having Sienna on the trip with us was a lot of fun - but there is only so much you can do with a 16 month old. We also had to be in our room by 7:30pm so she could go to bed....but we made the best of it and got some good sleep.

Smile! You LOVE airplanes!

Please hold on to the Handrail!

We spent the rest of the weekend at Raeann and Brian's house in Spring Hill. Unfortunately, it rained almost the entire time we were there. We did get out on their boat on the Gulf for about 15 minutes one day. We also had a few chances to relax by their pool. We made the best of having to stay indoors by playing board games and video games. I found out I am pretty decent at "Guitar Hero" - but terrible at the Dance game (the name of which I seem to have blocked due to the trauma). Speaking of trauma - Sienna's doll (appropriately named "baby") had a bit of a run in with the family Great Dane....not a pretty picture. We went running out to Target to buy her a new one, which she loves, but then she found the old one in the garbage! Oh boy.....that was BAD!

Dolls and Great Danes do NOT mix!

We got home around midnight on Sunday and left for our next trip on the following Weds. Needless to say.....we are getting a little worn down and the house is a disaster!!!

Wow...what a great trip! Is it just the picture....or is Sienna's hair getting lighter?
